What does the seers say ?
Truth does not require any authority. It is nothing but existence. But we seek authority and refuse to believe the reality. So let us see what others say. Here I am not into semantics but just into the gist of what others say.
1. Para Brahman (the supreme universal self)
The self sufficient cause of all causes, the essence of everything in cosmos. (Poorna - wholeness).
For more details please refer http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Para_Brahman
2.Sunya (Emptiness).
Emptiness is not different from form and form is not different from emptiness. Bhudda says he is nothing but pure consciousness. (Neti - not this).
For more details please refer to
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/%C5%9A%C5%ABnyat%C4%81
3. Zen
The Zen understanding is that mind is unreliable. It changes throughout life where as no-mind is always the same.
Further reading please refer to Zen - published by Aquarian\Thorsons(Eastern Wisdom series)
4. Tao
Thirty spokes of the wheel join the hub but what makes it roll is the emptiness between the wheel and the hub. So in principle realize Tao which is emptiness.
Further reading please refer to Tao - published by Aquarian\Thorsons(Eastern Wisdom series) &
Living Wisdom of Tao by Dr.Wayne Dyer
5. Who am I
Ramana Maharishi says, I am not sense organs, not vital airs, not the mind which thinks and negating all of the above that awareness which alone remains that I am.
Further reading please refer to Who Am I? (Naan Yar) Published by Sri Ramanashram.
6. It cannot be invited.
That state of mind which is no longer capable of striving is the true religious mind, and in that state of mind you may come upon this thing called truth or reality or bliss or God or beauty or love. This thing cannot be invited. Please understand that very simple fact. It cannot be invited, it cannot be sought after, because the mind is too silly, too small, your emotions are too shoddy, your way of life too confused for that enormity, that immense something, to be invited into your little house, your little corner of living which has been trampled and spat upon. You cannot invite it. To invite it you must know it and you cannot know it. It doesn't matter who says it, the moment he says, 'I know', he does not know. The moment you say you have found it you have not found it. If you say you have experienced it, you have never experienced it.
Freedom from the Known,Page 122 - J. Krishnamurti.
7. Vettaveli - Expanse.
In Tamil Siddha literature liberation is referred to as vettaveli or uyarveli or peruveli or kaduveli. The ultimate reality is conceived by them as vettaveli, which in ordinary language means that "plain, clear or light space". Vettaveli stands for expanse, an ideal transcendental region. It stands for an infinite transcendental awareness, It is not our awareness but awareness of being itself.

Tamil translation of the above
